April 2015 Vegan Cuts Beauty Box Review
It’s that time of month again!!! No, I’m not talking about Aunt Flo’s arrival ;), Its Vegan Cuts Beauty Box reveal day! It’s the easiest way to discover cruelty-free brands without committing to full-size products or prices. You can sign up for this beauty box here. April’s Vegan Cuts Beauty Box included 5 vegan goodies:
Petal Fresh Scalp Treatment Conditioner* – Last month’s VC Beauty Box (which I had the honor of co-curating) included Petal Fresh’s Scalp Treatment Shampoo (which I luuuurve), so I had a “you complete me” moment when I spotted its counterpart in this month’s box. I LOVE the formula which is effective and non-toxic (free of sulfates, GMOs, petrochemicals, phthalates, parabens). It’s designed to help relieve itchiness/flakiness and disinfect the scalp while leaving your hair shiny.
Goddess Garden Sunny Body Natural Sunscreen – Um, I can’t ignore that this sunblock has the coolest name evah! 😉 It’s made with organic plant-based ingredients and natural minerals that provides broad-spectrum sun protection. It’s sheer (blends in effortlessly and doesn’t leave any of those dreaded white streaks), non-greasy (there’s nothing grodier than greasy goop smeared on yo’ bod), reef safe, and biodegradable. This is the perfect size for stashing in my purse/diaper bag.
Captain Blakenship Mermaid Mane Sea Salt Hair Spray – ← Whoa, that’s a mouthful! This is a texturizing and moisturizing hair spray for peeps aspiring to have wavy beachy hair. It contains Pacific sea salt, organic aloe vera, and organic sea kelp which provide moisture and a light hold. I have to admit, I haven’t tried this out on my follicles (I’m def a blow out kind of gal – if you saw my natural Medusa do post shower, you’d understand), but I did spray some on my hand to test it out. I will say that this spray smells pretty dang awesome with its rose geranium and palmarosa beachy rose scent.
Emani Lip Gloss in Social Climber* (variation of shades were sent out) – Ok, LOVE (along with everything else I’ve tried from Emani). Super stoked about the shade I received (Social Climber), too – it’s the perfect nude (swatched below). Not only is it vegan, it’s also packed with Vitamin E, natural & organic oils, organic fruit extracts, and pure mineral pigments that condition and hydrate your lips. It also has a sweet candy scent which I mucho gusto.
Wellinhand Action Remedies Vanilla Rosemary Bug-A-Boo Bug Repellent – This cutely named, all-natural bug repellant only contains water, apple cider vinegar, witch hazel, calendula blossoms, and pure essential oils and is formulated for all skin types (even super sensitive). I got all excited that this was supposed to be Rosemary Vanilla scented (y’all know how nuts I’m over over vanilla errthang), but it smells kind of like tea tree oil or witch hazel or something along those lines, big time. I might have gotten the Eucalyptus Thyme one by accident, not sure. Def wanna try the vanilla one eventually, though.
New subscribers also received a sweet bonus gift in their April Beauty Box – a travel-sized Pacifica Alight Multi-Mineral BB Cream.
